LEAVELL DELIVERS THREE NEW SINGLES IN ONE DAY, MOVING FROM HIP-HOP GRIT TO INDIE POP SHINE
PRE-SAVE: CHILD SUPPORT | LOAN PT. 1 | SPOTLIGHT
Leavell, the Kentucky-based singer, songwriter, and rapper known for blending pop, R&B, and hip-hop into what he calls "music with substance," returns on July 26 with three new singles: "Child Support," "Loan Pt. 1," and "Spotlight."
Rather than bundling the songs into a single project, he is releasing all three as individual statements on the same day, each pulling from a different side of his sound and his life. Together, the tracks offer a complete introduction to an artist equally at home in hard-hitting hip-hop and radio-ready pop, making this a rare, single-day showcase of range.
"Child Support" is Leavell's message to the fathers still showing up, delivered over a dark, hypnotic bass and beat.
"Keep doing what you do," Leavell says. "Fathers definitely matter. I know it's difficult once the system gets involved, but the youngins need us."
"Loan Pt. 1" pulls from the modern dating world, where even the earliest conversations can start to feel less like connection and more like a transaction. Riding a melodic riff and a driving beat, the track makes a bold statement about women who expect to be taken care of from day one, the talking stage.
"Spotlight" trades hip-hop's weight for an uplifting, indie-pop, summer-ready sound reminiscent of Dominic Fike. The song examines the pressure of being seen by everyone and the fear of judgment that comes with it.
"Some try so hard to be seen that they put out this fake, glamorous life, and then they have to hide from the reality they've created," Leavell says. "Being popular while hiding your flaws is a job in itself."
Born and raised in Elkton, Kentucky, Leavell got his start singing in church as a child, developing the vocal ability and stage presence that would carry into his solo career. He began as a featured vocalist before moving into songwriting, production, and recording as an independent solo artist, building a catalog centered on relationships, perseverance, accountability, and everyday life.
His catalog includes "Baby," "My Heart," "Internet," "Reminiscing," "Keep Pushin'," and "Oh What A Nite" featuring Echikey Bahimo, along with the collaborative single "It's Over" with D Wesley. Often called "Kentucky's Best Kept Secret," he has built his brand independently, pairing his music with cinematic imagery, comic-inspired visuals, and narrative-driven marketing while maintaining full creative control over his sound and image.
"Child Support," "Loan Pt. 1," and "Spotlight" arrive July 26 on all major streaming platforms, marking one of the most ambitious single-day rollouts of Leavell's career and an ideal entry point for any outlet looking to introduce a rising independent artist on the verge of breaking out.
